A lot of times you can pull from your own experiences what you liked and didn’t like about a website. Take a look at the sites you visit frequently and put together a small list of things about that website that you like. Maybe the fact that its easy to navigate, the colors, or how the main poster conveys his personality… then you’ll have a better Idea of what changes you could implement on your own site. I’m not saying to copy them, but come up with your own way to implement the features you enjoy. Chances are if you find something enjoyable, from a user point of view, most others find it the same way.
